1950's kitsch flirts with something slightly macarbre. How one should feel about this painting is a confusing jumble - a dance you could say...

It's a true Dancing Story.

An old old friend of mine used to be Ballerina but has retired now that she's a Uni student and has a two year old daughter.

I told her that I didn't believe her, dancing is something thats in your blood, you can't 'retire'...

She then admitted that its true, she always finds herself unconciously bursting into dance around the house, when she thinks she is alone. She can't control it.

For me, thats a beautiful thing to admit.

However, it only gets more beautiful. As it turns out, She isn't as alone as she thought when she was when she bursts into dance. Recently on a number of occasions she has spun around to find her daughter behind her, who has abandoned her play things and is not only observing her mother intently, but also trying to copy her mum and dance herself.

Fantastic story, and brilliantly captured.
